  1. Reason No. 22. Lax extradition laws. You can do ‘anything, anywhere else’ and they will not send you back.

  2. Reason No. 23. The Vienna Dogs Choir (substitute ‘wedding ceremony’, ‘rooster’, ‘other’) can be counted on to start-up at 5:00 am on a Sunday morning after a ‘not so smooth’ night on the town the evening before.

  3. Talking about PP in most of this (as there is a serious lack of anything anywhere else). Reality is that apartments, etc are more expensive in Cambodia than they are in Thailand. That needs to be very clearly stated as does the fact that local food in Thailand is cheaper and better than local food in Cambodia. There is a music scene in PP, the night life is better in PP, the variety of Western food is better in PP, the people are more authentic in PP than BKK.

  4. Reason No. 24. (Man, forgot one of my favourites). Baby bouncing hour – between 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm the families along my street sit on chairs out the front of their abodes and bounce their babies on their laps. Young and old gather around – laughing, smiling, gossiping – its a ‘baby-bounce-athon’ with lots of smiles and waves as you walk past. Feels like a Jimmy Stewart movie, without the moral lesson at the end; just people living for the ‘now’.

  5. PNP is a good place to live in for those pet lovers. You could have them for free as they will come to you. What you need to do is to kindly allow them sticking around your dwelling. Mostly you may have various pets at the same time, suck as cats, geckos, birds or even bees. Believe it or not, Knmer people joke that a call of a gecko will bring you a million dollars or riels. Whatever, it’s call is a good sign for me more or less. I believe, why not?

  6. I’m so glad this article was written!! The “other” writer had no clue!! DVD’s are $1.50 btw. You are paying for the DVD. If a full season of a tv show has 12 episodes on 3 DVD’s it would be $4.50. I’ve said it for awhile. PP was the riviera of SE Asia for a reason in the 60’s. And she will be back before you know it. The pride and friendliness of the Khmer people is incomparable. I feel lucky to call this cheap, brilliant, needs a good spit shine city my home!!
